The month of October gets way spookier than ghosts and goblins – there are energy vampires out there and they are lurking in your homes. Do you know where they are?
Try this. Choose the five most occupied rooms in your home and make a list of all the appliances and electronics you can find in those rooms. You’re sure to find one or two vampires lurking around and sucking up unnecessary amounts of energy.
Even when you’re not watching the TV or charging your cell phone, if the device is still plugged into the wall, chances are, it’s still requiring energy. Research says the average home has about 40 appliances constantly sucking power – that’s 10% of all electricity being wasted on vampire power!
It’s Energy Awareness Month folks and I’m challenging you to stop those vampires from sucking all the energy out of your home because they’re leaving you with the bill! The solution is fairly simple – unplug it! And if you feel like it’s that’s too much of a task, invest in power strips for frequently-used appliances. That way you can just turn off the power strip with the flip of a button.
It’s all about finding simple, cost-effective ways to help you save more money on your electric bill. So get rid of those unwanted visitors and save a little while you’re at it too.
That’s all from me,
